My Medicare Planner: page 1 preview

Fill this two-page planner out at your kitchen table, keep it with your important papers, and bring it to any plan review. Helping a parent? Fill it out together.

What's inside

  • Your current coverage, plan names and what you pay each month
  • A list of your doctors, with the ones you must keep
  • Your prescriptions, doses and what you pay now
  • What matters most to you in a plan
  • Upcoming health needs and your own questions for a plan review

Key things to know

Copy prescriptions exactly

Write the name and dose exactly as they appear on the bottle. "10 mg once a day" makes it much easier to compare drug costs between plans.

Mark your must-keep doctors

Note which doctors you must keep and which are nice to keep. Networks are one of the biggest differences between plans.

Protect your Medicare number

Don't write your Medicare number on the planner. Keep your red, white & blue card in a safe place, and never give your number to someone who calls you out of the blue.

Bring it to a plan review

Common questions

Do I need to share my Medicare number to use the planner?

No. The planner is designed so you never write your Medicare number on it.

Is the plan review really free?

Yes. There's no cost to you for meeting with Alan. As an independent agent, he's paid by the insurance carriers, not by you.

Can I fill it out for my parent?

Yes. It works well as something to fill out together, and there's a spot for the family member who's helping.

Who it's for: Anyone comparing Medicare plans, and adult children helping a parent stay organized.
